Telefónica, the first telecommunications operator in Spain to be certified by AENOR against COVID-19
Thanks to the post-covid protocols implemented in 950 Movistar stores in Spain, Telefónica has become the first telecommunications operator in Spain to be certified by AENOR against COVID. This certification is an external guarantee of the effectiveness of the measures taken and supports the fact that these initiatives meet the guidelines set by the Ministry of Health. This certificate is valid for one year, but must be reviewed every three months.
Telefónica and Erictel expand scope of collaboration to promote Internet of Things and Big Data Solutions for mobility management
Erictel and Telefonica reach an agreement to improve and expand their collaboration in the development and marketing of new IoT and Big Data mobility solutions. This new agreement increases the geographical scope of their collaboration, which included Latin America and Spain, and also strengthens the product portfolio. Telefónica raises its IoT connections in Spain by 12.4% to 2.6 million
Since 2019, Telefónica has increased its Internet of Things coverage by 12.4% of lines to 2.6 million to cover the needs of its customers in Spain, both in rural and urban areas. Areas such as Madrid or Valencia, for example, have 100% coverage due to the high demand for the technology. Telefonica IoT offers both NB-IoT solutions, the most suitable for a massive use of IoT, and LTE-M for uses that require mobility.
Telefónica teams up with Silken to create contactless hotels in the post-Covid era
Telefónica and the iUrban startup have created a solution that facilitates the digitalization of all paperwork in hotels to avoid contact between customers and employees and thus reduce the risk of transmission of Covid-19. The Silken hotel chain has implemented the technology in 25 hotels throughout Spain. The service can be used from any mobile device through a QR code that allows to choose products and arrival times.
